Considering most of the people reading this probably won't be around to see this climactic (sorry) event, why should we care? It's not like we'd lose any sleep over Hurricane Creme Brulee hitting the south of France...
Then again, the possibilities for the Medicane are staggering.
- The French can finally put all those car fires out AND afford to fire the people who started them!
- We might be able to finally widen both the Straight of Gibraltar and the Suez Canal. That's right, snooty Egyptians! We're getting around that toll!
- Marseilles, armpit of Europe, will finally get cleaned. Seriously, it's disgusting.
- Goodbye Libyan wasteland, hello east Beverly Hills!
- Other cities will stop picking on Venice & praise the city for being brilliantly ahead of its time with its system of exceptionally clean, intricate canals. Oh, & those gondolas! How romantic.
- Yeah, then they'll ask for help in building their own...
- The French will once again surrender to Germany when Hurricane Helmut makes landfall & levels a truffle warehouse.
- Not that they need another excuse to give up.
And, of course, the BEST thing about a Hurricane in the Mediterranean...
- All those hippies backpacking across the continent will finally get a shower!

Wow, I didn't know there could be such an upside to global warming!
Now that's just funny.
I'm not laughting at other peoples' misfortune. I'm from Houston. I've seen a storm or two.
Hey, Hapkido!
The hippie thing is funny. I have always wanted to hike across Europe, but the thought of going even one day without a shower freaks me out!
Mrs. Who,
Oh, you bet! I didn't think of it, either but then a silly weather blog told me so!
Brian,
Nah, I'm not making light of their misfortune at all. I *AM* saying you can use humor while telling Europe it needs to take a bath!
Harvey,
Ooh, didn't think of that. Maybe it can all wash into Naples...that's where all the filth ends up, anyway!
CJenny,
Hiking across Europe would probably be fun. Getting all smelly, blistered & sunburnt across Europe...not so much!
