As if there is really any doubt of that.
Here's a city that bans JROTC from schools because of supposedly poor influence on children. I don't know about you but I've never known anyone who turned into a crazed gunman by way of a high school program. If anything, JROTC gives kids who don't want to play sports or be in the band something constructive to do with their lives.
As the linked story shows, you can't even show the most basic form of patriotism - singing the Star Spangled Banner - without, literally, coming under the heel of progressives bent on tearing down the traditional values of this country. Just as bad is the fact police released the attackers after they were identified.
Released.
After giving one Yale student a broken jaw & another a concussion.
Apparently, fighting for freedom & love of country aren't valid reasons according to the San Francisco "values" crowd. However, if you're expressing your patriotism, expect no quarter from these same people. That's something beneath contempt in their eyes.

that is total garbage... i was in ROTC and I think that society in general is the one with the problem.. I was trying to better myself by going to school and then continuing into a career in the military and every Thursday when i had to wear my BDU's or dress uniform on campus i quite literally had people spit on me because of the war in Iraq.. If you ask me JROTC is far better than society's alternative of undeserved over indulgent freedom, sounds like society needs a lesson in dedication and action instead of close mindedness and hand outs.. You know the funny part is the kids spitting on me were the ones that got their weekly hand out from mom and dad and have probably never been a part of anything in their entire lives, which is what this kind of action encourages, and yet they were too stupid to realize that when you serve your country in the armed forces, you don't pick the wars you just defend the freedoms of those lazy, herd mentality, drones that spit on you... So right on San Francisco thanks for contributing to the further global apathy, and ignorance of the Brittany Spears generation that will all be too fat and lazy to take care of their elders someday... really thanks..
Well said, sis! People have this smug sense of entitlement about life in this country & take for granted that was't always the case.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but passing collective judgement on members of the armed forces is contemptible. They're protecting our freedoms & should be lauded for that sacrifice.
