Personally, I think it's worth an upgrade to "great" but you can judge for yourself when you pay her a visit. She's got to-the-point, humorous quips about life; a few pics of the farm; and even some valuable philosophical insight.
The blog is a nice combination of musings on life & well worth anyone's time.

I Swear
I actually forgot about a really good blog. Fortunately, Harvey of Bad Example tagged _Jon of We Swear in a meme, which reminded me of this great site!
I first learned of _Jon when he commented on my site & asked Harvey if _Jon had a blog. Well, he didn't at the time but Harvey apparently convinced him to start one up & We Swear is the result. It's an enjoyable site with some serious, some humor & all of it worth your time.

I picked up this little baby at Wal-Mart a couple days ago. In the back of my head, all I could think was how B-A-D air poppers have been in the past. You get stale popcorn & sometimes it burns, etc. Just crappy.
However, when I first used this one, the result was nice, fluffy popcorn! It takes about 3 minutes to get about a gallon of popcorn & the butter melting cup lets you get multi-task - as is so popular these days.
If you're looking for a far better alternative to microwaved crappy popcorn, this is your product. It's cheaper in the long run & much better for you. Give this one a shot.

Gasp!
Uh-oh! I have made a terrible omission on my site. I was busy blasting Harvey on his appropriately-named site, Bad Example, & having a, well, blast. Roses - who is NOT causing any trouble - & I got into a tomato-based battle, during which Mrs. Who of House Of Zathras decided to get involved...helping Roses!
Needless to say, I was (not really) flabbergasted!
Then I realized the problem: Not enough blog-appreciation for Mrs. Who! I didn't even have her well done site linked on my blog. Well, I'm just disappointed in myself. I dare say I deserved those tomatoes to be chucked in my general direction. :-P

This one goes out to chlorinejenny of I Don't Play Well With Others...check out her site - she's got a great sense of humor, which is amazing for a liberal (j/k). We got into a bit of a comment-sparring match over how to best treat an escaped male prisoner on another blog & she gave as well as she got.

Coke Zero
Oh baby! This is the stuff! No calories, no sugar, no problems.
Yeah, darn right it tastes just like Coca-Cola. It also doesn't have that "heavy" feeling you get from Coke Classic (if you mention "New Coke", you lose a finger).
I'm not what you'd call much of a soda drinker - basically, I don't like all the sugar & diet soda (not counting Diet A&W) tastes like crap. This stuff has me drinking more...which probably isn't a good thing on any level.
Fortunately, my 32 year-old frame has seen fit to keep a magnificent set of zero-cavity choppers (knock on wood).

Lipton Cranberry Pomegranate Tea
Purchased: Hy-Vee
Cost: About $3.50
Qty: 20 bags
A really nice tea. The flavor has quite a bit of pomegranate that takes the bitterness away from the cranberry. If you like something different in your tea, this is probably for you.
That being said, it's NOT at all like a traditional tea. I doubt you'll even pick up the green tea flavor for the most part. If that's what you're looking for, you may want to stick with your Pickwick!

OK, I'll put it to you this way: If you don't like that site, e-mail me & I'll throw you on the communist list. It's just that good.
Indexed involves - appropriately enough - scanned index cards with various diagrams on them. Lots of humor to be found in an everyday item. It's done with such genius but you'll wonder how you never came up with the idea.
Check it out. You'll be happy you did.

Oh, how I already looove this new digital camera! The Canon PowerShot A640 gets the job done, has a great repeat rate for shots & is incredibly easy to use. I even let one of my classmates in HKD snap a few pics & got a couple of my little sis, Sarah (she's so darn cute!). They all turned out clear as a bell.
The weight of the camera is excellent - it doesn't have that light, plasticky feel like many other cameras. This provides stability for clear photos. The amount of detail in said pictures - as expected for 10MP - is brilliant.
The lens is interchangeable, allowing flexibility for semi-professional photographers (i.e. - not me) & it's easy to utilize the functions included.
I'm still exploring all the myriad options this fine product has to offer. So far there's only one disappointment: Why on earth would Canon "throw in" a 32MB SD card for a 10MP camera? On the standard setting, this allows for about 10 to 12 pics & at best that lets you try the thing out. C'mon, Canon! Give us at least 128MB! Memory isn't that expensive.
Fortunately, I was able to secure a 1GB MicroSD card from SanDisk (adapter included) for $25 at Best Buy. Now I can take up to 400 photos & store over 2 hours of video.
If you're in the market for a well-made camera that offers remarkable ease of use, I'd say this one's worth the relatively low price.

This is a great website I found by way of Bad Example.
It's a politically-based cartoon site & not-so-subtle in getting its point across with twisted humor.

Canon PowerShot Digital Camera
I was looking for a new digital camera to replace my current one which isn't compatible with my new MP3/Video/Photo player.
I got my brother's, Mike, help & found this little guy on the Amazon.com website. 10 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, adjustable LCD screen & a Digital Teleconverter.
Yeah, this bad boy is going to the next Hapkido seminar!
On the flip side, this sucker is a power hog. It takes 4 AA batteries, so you know it'll run through recharges like a bad burrito through a tourist in Mexico.
Also, the price tag - while discounted - is still a high one: $310.00 with free shipping. The worst part is that I have to wait until 2/19 before it ships. At least that does give me something to anticipate.
Reviews have been excellent with one "semi-professional" photographer saying he preferred it over a 6MP SLR. Yeah, I find that slightly difficult to believe...but I guess if he says so.

Finally Getting Feeling Back
I "slightly" injured my back on Tuesday night at test. Now, I know that's a surprise considering I was only jumping head-first over three people. It's not the impact that caused the injury...it was the fact the floor decided not to move at the same speed I was.
Well, needless to say my lower left back wasn't feeling at the top of it's game by that point.
I actually had to see the chiropractor the next day. I'm not one to rush to the doctor but in this case, it was warranted. He did his thing, it loosened me up a little & it's getting progressively better.
Which reminds me: If any of you have sore muscles (even if they're not related to body part-attrition) you've GOT to try Icy-Hot Patch (about $6.75 at Target). It did wonders to keep me healing & I can feel I'm well on the road to recovery.

Wii Virtual Console
Nintendo's come up with a real winner! They're offering lots of older (NES, Super NES, Genesis, N64) games online you can play on the console.
Most of the games will run you from $8 to $10, but the NES titles only cost $5. They introducing three or four "new" games online every week. The latest of which is Mario Kart 64 - one of the funnest games for the N64. At $10, it's worth the cost for a game that's hard to find.
It's a shame the other console makers couldn't offer this kind of service. Being able to download your games onto a small SD memory card & not having to worry about storage of cartridges is a brilliant idea.
Right now, I've got to get back to Super Castlevania IV - another classic among classics! Have a good day everyone.

I found this little gem of an MP3 player at Best Buy when I was doing extensive searching for just the right one. Believe me, when I put over 6 months into finding a product, I'm serious about it being just what I want. By comparison, I took just two months deciding on what new car to buy.
It's a compact player if there ever was one. Roughly the size of a credit card, it has a 1.8" TFT screen with over 250,000 colors. It plays video flawlessly - even going so far as to rotate the image for the best fit on the display. As for weight, it has a noticeable gravity in your hand. While not "heavy" by definition, it does feel sturdy when you hold it.
The device is pretty simple to figure out, though some of the less-technical folks out there may need a few tries to get the video conversion going. Once you figure it out, there's nothing tough about it. Fortunately, simplicity is the name of the game for this little gizmo.
Navigation & volume control are shared by a rotating wheel on the face that has a nice blue glow - similar to the Nintendo Wii's. It's perfectly responsive & it's raised just above the surrounding buttons. I've found this makes it much better for listening as you're not too likely to skip or pause by accident.
As for charging, it has an internal Lithium battery which can be replaced if needed. There's no bulky adapter or switching out to charge a 2nd battery - you just connect the USB cable to your computer, plug in the unit & it charges up, quickly.
This one's available in 2GB, 4GB, 6GB models as well. For my money, I'd recommend the 6GB or 8GB. They're only $20 more than the 4GB & 6GB models, respectively.
Overall, it's an excellent player. The included CD installs quickly & without difficulty. The design was centered around ease of use, even for relatively new functions like video playback & radio recording. If you're in the market for a new player, the Sansa is definitely worth a listen.

Carrie Underwood
I can't say I'm much of an American Idol fan - it just never caught my interest. I suppose I can be forgiven for not knowing who the heck Carrie Underwood is.
I heard her single "Before He Cheats" on the radio & while it's not really my type of song, it did encourage me to check out some of her other songs. I downloaded a few & would say she's at least worth checking out.
I'm not much of a country fan, though I do have a few artists I can enjoy. She's definitely going on the list because of her strong, confident voice. Most of her songs are catchy or at least strike a good emotional chord. It doesn't hurt that she's cute-as-a-button, either. ;-)
